Eight Unpolished Songs (2012)

These are the same songs as the ones on Eight Folk Songs, but recorded as a duo: me on electric guitar and vocals, and Alex Ashmun on drums.

It was mostly to give ourselves a feel for how we sounded as a duo, since that’s how we were performing those songs live at the time – I don’t think we made many copies of this one, because people seemed more interested in the uncanny sounds of Eight Folk Songs.

They’re not unpolished at all.

We didn’t know what else to call them, though, because they’re not really “rock songs” either – some people called it “art punk” at the time, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it – and “Eight Electric Songs” seemed off, for whatever reason.
