Out of Print and Unavailable

Out of Print and Unavailable Filmography (as Jesse Statman)

When I really picked up making music again in 2009, I was about to turn 16 – and I was pretty tired of being a filmmaker, because I’d already made over 100 short films at that point in my life, with Band Of The Land Films.

So a lot of the filmmaking projects I took on in 2009 and the years that followed were either these very specific projects like The Manual Polar Goes For A Ride (2010) that I was so passionate about the idea of that I just had to do it even though I’d kind of sworn off filmmaking – or they were projects that were directly related to my music, like 8PM in New York City (2011).

Some of the stuff I did in this time was also highly experimental and it was more intended as an act of violence against the art of filmmaking itself than it was a movie – Exhibits 1-7 (2009) really felt that way when I made it.

This was actually a really important time in my development as a filmmaker, though, because I was exploring the outer limits of what I could do, once I’d already done almost everything I wanted to do in that medium. Now that I’ve been thinking of getting back into filmmaking in 2024, it’s really interesting to see what I was up to in this relatively fallow time.
