Paint and Industry (2012)

This is a CD of just two songs: “Paint” and “Industry” – both with me on electric guitar and vocals and Alex Ashmun on drums, just like Eight Unpolished Songs.

“Paint” was about an NYC band I played in called Violent Paint, which also served as the inspiration for “My Violent Brush” on the album Miracle on Neon Clown Avenue (2022).

“Industry” was a more abstract song that featured a sung version of a poem I wrote around 2009/10 that you can also hear in a number of my songs, including “EEG” and some versions of “East Broadway”.

I don’t think we did many pressings of this CD, simply because we did it right after Eight Unpolished Songs and shortly before I wrote a lot of other new material that I became more focused on – it’s a fun one, though.

lyrics for “Paint” and “Ghost” (from Cannonball Statman: A History, Part One)
a copy of Zero (2012), another out of print, unavailable Cannonball Statman release that combines live and home-recorded versions of both “Paint” and “Industry” with live and home-recorded versions of other songs from this era
